These terms govern use of NovelChat, a Microsoft Word add-in issued by DigitalCube. By installing or using NovelChat, you agree to these terms.

What NovelChat is

NovelChat is a chat interface inside Microsoft Word that connects to third-party AI providers using an API key supplied by the user. NovelChat does not generate, host, moderate, or control any AI-generated content. All content produced in NovelChat is generated by the AI provider configured by the user, based on the user's inputs and that provider's own models and capabilities.

Your account with your AI provider

To use NovelChat, you need your own account and API key with a supported AI provider, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. That relationship, including costs, usage limits, content policies, and age requirements, is between you and that provider, governed by its own terms of service. You are responsible for:

• Complying with your AI provider's terms of service and acceptable use policies
• Any usage costs billed by your provider. NovelChat does not charge for usage and has no visibility into or control over what your provider bills you
• Meeting any age or eligibility requirements imposed by your provider

Your content

You own what you write and what is generated through your use of NovelChat and your own AI provider account. NovelChat claims no rights to your writing, your documents, or any AI-generated content you produce while using it.

No warranty

NovelChat is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Availability, accuracy, and fitness for a particular purpose are not guaranteed. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or unsuitable for your use. Review it before relying on it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DigitalCube is not liable for damages arising from your use of NovelChat, including costs billed by an AI provider, lost data, or content generated by a third-party AI provider through use of the add-in.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of NovelChat after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of NovelChat is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
